Why pay Media Buyer Rates from a Media Buying Firm?

At Wholesale TV and Radio Advertising we will help you acquire targeted media at 70-85% off traditional media buyer and advertising agency rate cards.  However, we are not a traditional media buying firm.  Per salesgenie.com, there are 7800 media buyers and advertising agencies in the U.S.  In our opinion they are 7000 too many and they are all basically doing the same thing.  Bottom line; we have NO desire to be number 7801.

Media buying firms contact your targeted stations and ask for agency rate cards (quotes).  They then pass the rate card on to their prospective client.  The larger media buying firms and advertising agencies claim they get the best rates because of “buying power”.  The fact of the matter is, they are not buying anything.  Their business model (at least from a media buying perspective) constitutes being a glorified sales rep or “personal shopper” for the stations.  They work for the station and they get paid a commission by the station for booking the media at the rates the stations wants it booked at.  Yes, they can negotiate a little, but not much (5-10%). 
  2. We NEVER-EVER ask for rate cards or price quotes.  We NEVER haggle with stations over rates.  How can we do it you ask?
